How are the partnership projects selected?

  1. 1. After the closing date for applications, applications will be formally examined by the secretariat.
  2. 2. Subsequently, the content is reviewed by a panel of medical experts with experience in development cooperation.
  3. 3. During the examination phase we may ask you to correct missing or unclear information.
  4. 4. The final selection of partnership projects is made by the BMZ, EKFS and GIZ.
  5. 5. Applicants will be informed four to six months after the application deadline whether their application has been successful.

How is the contract preparation structured?

  1. 1. A commercial suitability check of the German partner organization is carried out before the contract is created.
  2. 2. If your application is successful, the GIZ will conclude a grant agreement with the applicant in which the approved funds, the planned activities and reporting obligations are recorded.
  3. 3. Additional documents can be requested from them for both commercial suitability and contract preparation.
  4. 4. Please note that the implementation of the activities can only start with the mutual signing of the contract.

What is needed for the successful implementation of my partnership project?

  1. 1. The planned activities are carried out with the involvement of experienced specialist personnel on both sides.
  2. 2. The German partner is responsible for implementation, regular reporting and financial management. This includes the funding requirement plan, regular requests for funds and the statements of account for the funds requested. The secretariat is informed about the implementation status of the projects in six-monthly reports.
  3. 3. If you have any questions regarding implementation or upcoming changes in the project, please inform our secretariat in good time.

What must be considered at the end of the project?

  1. 1. The successful completion of your project includes the final financial statement and the technical final report. The final report outlines the effects achieved by the project.
  2. 2. If you are interested in a follow-up funding of your partnership, please contact our secretariat.
