This year, the Else Kröner-Fresenius award for cooperation in medical development honors projects working on “Epidemic Preparedness and Response”. Project staff whose partner work in low- and middle-income countries helps to contain epidemics can apply until April 30, 2021. The prize is endowed with 100,000 euros. It is awarded annually by the Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation.
Applicants for the award work with measures that prevent the emergence and spread of infectious diseases. Their projects focus on known infectious diseases, such as cholera, pertussis or zika fever.
The award for cooperation in medical development will be presented in October this year at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in Berlin. For more information about the application process and previous award ceremonies, please visit the foundations website.
