Health Partnerships – GlobalOncology

The partnership between the Technical University rechts der Isar Hospital of Munich and the Peking University Cancer Hospital supports the Chinese partners in developing digital health skills in the field of precision oncology.

Background: Digital health technologies have the potential to enhance the accuracy and robustness of diagnoses and treatments. Although the rechts der Isar Hospital has developed innovative digital health technologies, it lacks patients to treat. The Peking University Cancer Hospital, on the other hand, has a great many patients with all manner of clinical requirements. The partnership offers the opportunity to optimise the efficiency of treatment.

Activities:

- Providing a one-week intensive course on state-of-the-art digital health technologies for Chinese colleagues in Peking

- Hosting a practical tutorial on computer

-aided diagnostic tools with artificial intelligence for radiologists or nuclear medicine specialists

- Hosting a practical tutorial on computer

-aided surgery and treatment planning

Impact: With the support of the partnership programme, the aim is to establish a common hub in order to strengthen the existing cooperation and encourage joint educational activities in the future. In addition, both institutions benefit from the joint development of the new digital health technologies.
