Promotion of a medical care concept in Kabul

Health Partnerships – GlobalHospital and quality management
The partnership between the association Afghanic e.V and the Dewanbegi OPD Clinic in Kabul, Afghanistan aims to improve the medical care of patients in the partner hospital. Problem: Afghanistan is regarded as one of the most fragile countries in the world. Decades of war has heightened the severity of the health situation among millions of persons and has caused massive challenges in the provision of health care. Main Activities: The partnership provides trainings to doctors at the Dewanbegi OPD Clinic in the areas of general medicine and treatment methods. The “Train-the-Trainer" concept is used to further educate other medical personnel. Furthermore, activities in process management and quality assurance have been established. For example, the development of a digital patient databank and the utilization of a mini-laboratory to determine medication quality has been used. Short-Term Effect: Cross-departmental improvement in patient care quality through the implementation of structures, training, and digitalized patient records. Long-Term Effect: A continued and high quality care for patients in Kabul which will be independently carried-out by the local partners.
