The partnership between the Hammer Forum e.V. and the Orotta National Referral Hospital in Eritrea aims to continue to support the jointly established training for medical specialists in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. Problem: In Eritrea there are very few options for obtaining basic or advanced training in obstetrics or gynaecology. Main activities: Midwives are to be instructed in the care and examination of newborn infants. Doctors who have already completed the first phase of their training are also to be trained in neonatology and ultrasound techniques. Short-term results: Midwives and doctors are to receive training in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. Long-term results: Through the project, newborn infants and their mothers should be guaranteed better care.
